Eco-Trust members and public volunteers restore the Children's Millennium Monument
July 21, 2019
In giving back to the people who have supported the Eco-Trust Society in its endeavours, members of the club with the aid of public volunteers (previously signed up for event) have worked tirelessly to clean up and revitalize the Children's Millennium Monument. As children, many of us have visited this historical monument at least once and it has been a place of fond memories for many, both young and old, who visit the National Park on Carifesta Avenue. The Society is pleased to host this activity of restoring a national memorial that stands for the representation of the child's rights in Guyana - a memoir of childhood innocence.
It is also important that we recognize the role of children and future generations in the fight against climate change, and that our present actions can impact their future.
We thank all the volunteers with heart felt gratitude as it was their hard efforts combined that have transformed this historical architecture to its former glory.
