Guyana's First-ever Climate Action Walk & Rally (and Tree Planting exercise)
August 7, 2019
After the successful re-invigoration of the Children's Millennium Monument, Guyana's first Climate Action Walk and Rally was observed on 27th July, 2019 featuring many of the Society's members and volunteers who took to streets in a walk to remember. Every participant displaying their own creative educational and awareness placards defining the need for safeguarding the environment in order for a better future. The walk began from the Bank of Guyana on Main Street and ended at the National Park where all assembled at the Children's Millennium Monument for a Tree Planting exercise. Plants were donated to this cause by external supporters as well as fellow Society members. We thank all for their invaluable contribution and participation in the Walk for Climate Action and we hope to make it an annual event growing bigger and better every consecutive year.
Let's take a deeper look into what our participants wrote on their placards!
